A Greek view to Parrots

The global context of companion parrots is a narrative sorely missing from companion parrot advocacy. Too often we apply out own socioeconomic, national and native context to another's situation. Too often that leads to judgments rather than solutions. There is no easy fix to the advocacy needs of companion parrots globally. But that fix does start with understanding.

Companion Parrot, not pet

In our daily work of advocacy, and really in our daily lives, we all revisit our ideas and opinions on matters. Refining thoughts and proclamations to better represent out work and ideals. As with companion parrots, some advocates are thinkers. David is often given kind and sincere thoughts to his own personal work, and I appreciate his voice.

Relationship not ownership

Words, their meanings and the appropriate use of those words, will make the new advocacy approaches through FlockCall resonate rather than stagnate. Each of us as advocates must raise the quality of our vocabulary to raise the true awareness for companion parrots everywhere.

Companions need compromise.

Great relationships contain a key element of practice; compromise. Without compromise there is no room for growth or change. A little understanding compromise with our companion parrots yields marvelous results.

Flocking on an Island

In the global context and format of humans and parrots, we are all so widely different it is impossible to find an absolute truth outside of our own core reality. Conversely by seeking the perspective of other flocks we can not only improve our own flock, but elevate the truth of companion parrots globally. It takes all of us, together, to give every parrot everywhere, a happy home.

A Welcome Home Companion Story

Companion Parrots are much more aware, resilient and resourceful than the general public would understand or credit. And sometimes, we the human in the room sharing our lives with these loyal hearts forget that truth as well. This is a lovely example of how the humans in the flock, will benefit from keeping the amazing attributes of companions in view.
